  • Innovation Mapping Wins Spot as 1st Resident of
    Venture Works New Business Incubator

HUNTINGTON, IN — Venture Works, Huntington County's new entrepreneur support center, has announced that Innovation Mapping, a full-service geographic information system (GIS) company, has been selected as the first resident of the Venture Works new business incubator at 2031 College Avenue in Huntington. An open house is planned for Tuesday, September 26, from 5 to 7 PM at the incubator. The business community and the public are invited to attend.

Kay Schwob, Director of the Huntington University Enterprise Resource Center, which administers Venture Works, made the official announcement, "We're really thrilled to have Innovation Mapping as our first resident. Venture Works was created to spur new business growth in Huntington County, with an emphasis on high-performance, new technology companies, and the advanced GIS technology represented by Innovation Mapping is a perfect match for our mission. Most importantly, we see wide-spread business and governmental applications for Innovation Mapping's many services, which will ultimately benefit all of Huntington County."

Joel Holloway, P.E., Operations Manager of Innovation Mapping, described the company's services, "We provide the means for businesses and governments to accurately track assets and analyze activities to a breadth and depth previously thought to be impractical or unaffordable, and to do so with ease. Thanks to the high speed and low cost of today's computing capacity, we're able to combine new technologies in GIS, mapping, surveying, data collection, and database management to produce dynamic datasets that reflect the real world in ways that decision-makers can actually see and use. Practical applications range from sales and marketing to physical asset management and process monitoring. Marketing managers can overlay sales patterns with demographics to pinpoint new markets. Government planners and administrators can track and manage everything from water distribution systems to traffic control. It's a whole new way of looking at things; trends and patterns you've never seen before pop up like magic and it’s very empowering."

Interested parties can get a closer look at the open house, or contact Joel directly at 260-356-9075.

Venture Works is a collaborative effort of Huntington County United Economic Development (HCUED), Huntington University Enterprise Resource Center, the Huntington County Commissioners, and the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center. Venture Works provides a broad range of services and resources for new Huntington County business ventures.
