  • Innovation Mapping named Business of the Month

    HUNTINGTON, IN- The Huntington County Chamber of Commerce awarded its business of the month award to Innovation Mapping, which specialized in organizing information on the Internet.

    Innovation Mapping was co-founded by Chris Tallman and Joel Holloway in 2005 to provide expertise and customized software solutions to communities and businesses.  In August of 2006, Innovation Mapping relocated from the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center (NIIC) in Fort Wayne to the Venture Works program at Huntington University.  The Innovation Mapping office is located at 2031 College Avenue.  Locally Innovation Mapping is a member of the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce and nationally a member of the Water Environment Federation (WEF).

    Created to enable businesses and municipalities to realize the potential in their information, Innovation Mapping utilizes their expertise in software and organization solutions to simplify the process of storing and recalling critical pieces of information.  Innovation Mapping currently serves 25 past and present clients around Indiana and other sites in the United States.  Innovation Mapping also serves the mapping needs of clients of a global pump manufacturer under their product label.

    Innovation Mapping’s projects typically include the survey, inspection, recording and mapping of infrastructure for municipal sanitary and storm sewer, water systems, and road networks.  Specialized projects have involved such items as a GIS for two city cemeteries in Central Indiana and the digital organization of a town’s ordinances.  Many of these projects included the creation and implementation of a geographic information system (GIS) or the collection and integration of additional data to improve the functionality of an existing GIS.  Innovation Mapping has also developed a vehicle location program utilizing GIS to provide real-time locations for emergency, public works and business vehicles.  Innovation Mapping also provides website design and hosting services that complement a client’s data organization goals.
